The Bruins took second place in the 3A-1A Regional Tournament golf tournament at Centennial Golf Course in Medford last Wednesday and Thursday, earning a spot to compete in 3A state finals next week.

Just behind Bandon, the Bruins came in second at 764 on Thursday, with Cameron Kime staying consistent by scoring an 84 each day, and Robby Rowe coming in behind that with a low 87 to keep the Bruins near the top.

Zack Walker helped round things out despite recovering from the flu, according to Bruins coach Gary Early.

Ethan Hooper and James Harlan also helped out the Bruins by serving as alternates.

Scoring was decided by taking the top four scores for each team each day and adding them up for the final score.

It was also announced at this meet that Kime earned second team all-district honors this season, while Rowe and Rylan Bruce received honorable mentions.

The girls golfers headed to Rogue Valley Country Club on Monday and Tuesday for their own regional tournament, with final scores still pending. The boys travel to Eagle Ridge Golf Course early next week to compete at the state level.
