The Bruins wrapped up their second and third games against the Cascade Christian Challengers at 3-0 on Friday after taking two more wins at 11-2 and 4-3.

The Bruins scored two runs to kick off the first game and after an uneventful second inning, secured their lead with a big six runs in the third inning to take things to 8-0. The Challengers matched the Bruins for a single point in the fifth before the Bruins scored another two runs in the fifth inning and the game was called.

The second game stayed much closer as the Challengers scored three runs in the second inning while the Bruins only managed one of their own. The Bruins tied things up soon afterward however with two runs in the third inning to take things to 3-3.

Things grew tenser as the game drew on with an uneventful fourth quarter. The Bruins managed to break away from a tie game in the fifth with a single run, taking things to 4-3. From there, both teams kept one another off home, with the game wrapping up at 4-3 as the Challenger’s finished batting in the seventh inning.

The Bruins are 6-0 in the league so far, tied with Sutherlin for first. They are 13-1 overall so far this season and were last ranked No. 1 in the OSAA 3A rankings.

The Bruins play again on Tuesday when they host returning rival South Umpqua at 5 p.m. After that, they’ll head to South Umpqua on Friday for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
