The Bruins hit the road for a doubleheader against Douglas last Friday, taking a 5-1 win in the first game and a 6-2 win in the second.

Douglas drew first blood with a single run in the second inning of game one. The Bruins rebutted with a run in the third inning to tie things up at 1-1 before seizing the lead in the third inning with three runs, taking things to 4-1. One more run in the sixth inning secured the Bruins win at of 5-1.

The second game saw Douglas take the first run once again in the first inning. Neither team scored again until the fourth inning, where the Bruins ran away with five runs to take things to 5-1. Douglas came back for a single run in the fifth quarter before the Bruins finished up with another run in the seventh to end at it 6-2.

The Bruins are now 12-1 overall and were last ranked No. 1 in the OSAA 3A rankings. In league, they’re 3-0 and tied for first place with Sutherlin.

The Bruins played again Tuesday against a new league rival, Cascade Christian. They’ll play again this Friday against Cascade in a doubleheader at home starting at 3 p.m.
