The Bruins golf team played at Laurel Hill on Monday, taking third place behind Hidden Valley and Illinois Valley. Abby Walker took second low to earn a medal, while the whole team earned a plaque for taking third.

“This is a special team this year because we have been in first and second and now third since this tournament started,” said Bruins coach Gary Early. “Someone has medaled every time and this was the first year one of our girls received it, which is pretty cool.”

On Thursday, the Bruins travel to Eagle Point where the boy’s varsity golfers will compete in the 10-team Eagle Point High School tournament at Eagle Point Golf Course, starting at noon. After that, they’ll head to Grants Pass country club the following Monday for a tournament starting at 8 p.m.

The Bruins will hold their home tournament later this month at Salmon Run Golf Course on April 29 beginning at 10 a.m. The regional boys and girls tournaments for men begin early May.
