Bruins youth volleyball league this weekend

Registration is now open for the Bruins youth volleyball league, which begins on Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at Azalea Middle School. Sign up forms are available at the Brookings-Harbor High School office or you can sign-up at the door on the first day of league.

The League is open to both boys and girls girls from grades 3-6. There will be five weekend meetups for participants to attend over the course November and December. Each meetup includes practice time and coached games.

Registration fees are $35 individual or $30 each for athletes of the same family.

The league will be coached by high school and middle school coaches, as well as high school players. All funds go towards Bruin Volleyball. For more information call 541-469-5801.

Salmon Run hosts Turkey Trot tournament

Salmon Run’s final tournament of the year will be The Turkey Trot on Nov. 17 starting at 10 a.m. with check-in at 9-9:30 a.m. The tournament will be a four-person scramble at $25 plus green fees. KP’s and Mulligan’s will be available. The tournament will have prizes afterward, including turkeys. Lunch will be provided.

Salmon Run will be on Thanksgiving day. The Mens Club will be also be hosting a Turkey Shoot competition on Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. Contact the clubhouse for more information.


A Nov. 3 story concerning results of the Bruins football team’s first-round playoff game against the Amity Warriors contained errors.

The final score was 52-6 in the Warriors favor with Bruins player Kelvonte Dawsey scoring a touchdown in the final few seconds of the game.
