Fall sports practice starts on Monday

Mandatory fall sports practice at Brookings-Harbor High School begins Monday for boys and girls soccer, football, volleyball, cheer and cross country. Tryouts for volleyball and soccer begin Monday as well.

Volleyball tryouts start Monday morning at 9. In the afternoon, cross country practice will start at 4, while soccer practice begins at 4:30. Later that evening, football practice goes from 6-8:30.

Athletes should be sure to have their physicals up to date, have their $85 sports fees paid, register on https://www.familyid.com/organizations/brookings-harbor-school-district, and get their gold slip from Tina at the BHHS athletics office. These requirements must be met before any fall athlete may participate in practice and can be taken care of the Monday morning if necessary. The athletic office opens at 8 a.m.

BHHS soccer teams to hold youth camp next week

Next week, the Brookings-Harbor High School boys and girls soccer teams will be hosting a three-day youth soccer camp at the high school soccer field. The camp will run Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

Members of the high school team and coaches will teach kids grade K-8 the basics of soccer through fun activities. Participants are advised to bring bring water, cleats, a ball, and to wear shin guards.

Registration costs $50 for one child and an additional $40 for each sibling. Participants can pick up a registration form at the field or visit Tina at the BHHS athletic office. Registration will be due the first day of camp.

The girl’s soccer team will also be playing a scrimmage match against Hidden Valley this Sunday at the high school.
