Last weekend, Salmon Run hosted the June Jackson Memorial Tournament sponsored by Don Jackson to honor of his wife who died three years ago. The tournament was a three- and four-man team scramble that started early Saturday morning.

Mike Cornelius, Bob Miller, Lance Duey and Calvin Maready took first place with a 56.

Second place was a tie at 64 between the four-man team of Dale Riley, Diane Riley, Wade Le Jeune and Tracy Le Jeune and the three-man team of Gary Early, Matt Hubbard and Bill Vanscoy.

The second round of the Salmon Run youth golf camp started Monday and continues through the rest of the week.

The Salmon Run Mens club also played last Wednesday, with Dale Riley, Sandy Catanzarite, Bob Miller and Kent Miller coming out on top as the weekly winners. The Mens Club meets every Wednesday morning for a game starting at 9 a.m. and check in at 8:30 a.m.

After a cooling down last week, things look to be heating up on Salmon run. The week looks to peak today near 80 degrees before cooling down to the low 70s the closer it gets to the weekend.

After the closure of the Del Norte Golf Course on July 1, there was a scramble to reschedule several of the course’s annual events. The Del Norte Booster Club Football Tournament was relocated to Salmon run and will be hosted Saturday. The shotgun tournament starts at 9:30 a.m.

After the second session of the Salmon Run Youth camp ends this week, there will be a final session held from July 23-27.
