Despite a hot week, Salmon Run’s first youth camp camp concluded last Friday after a week of teaching local kids the basics of the sport. The next session starts next week.

“We had a great time with the kids coming out for the youth camp and we can’t wait to hold the next one on July 9,” said Val Early of Salmon Run.

The Ladies Match Play tournament also had its third round last week, with the third coming up soon on July 12.


The heat has been taking its toll on the Salmon Run course, but the rest of the week is likely to be overcast, cooling things down significantly before the sun comes out again next Monday.

In honor of the Fourth of July, Salmon Run is offering a $60 dollar deal for two golfers sharing a cart today.

The June Jackson Memorial Tournament sponsored by Don Jackson will take place this weekend on July 7 starting at 9:30 a.m.

Golfers can put together a four-person team to play a causal tournament. Entry fees are $25 plus green fees. Lunch will be included.

The second session of the Salmon Run summer youth camp starts Monday and continues July 9-13. Scholarships are still available, inquire at the clubhouse.

The Del Norte Booster Club Football Tournament, which was moved to Salmon Run after the Del Norte course shut down, has been scheduled for July 14, with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
