Bruins track and field
The Bruins traveled to Eugene this weekend for the OSAA 4A State Championship track meet at Hayward Field after qualifying for the men’s 400-meter dash, women’s 4x100 relay, men’s pole vault and men’s high jump last weekend at the Far West League Championship meet.
As of Friday, Bailey Stamm had made it to the finals for the 400 at a time of 51.48. He’ll compete in the finals later today.
Ryan Steendahl will compete in the high jump and pole vault while Stephanie Birks, Mickey Fulton, Avana Pettus and Alonna Nalls compete in the 4x100 relay.

A fter taking a solid 12-0 win against Myrtle Point on Tuesday, the Panthers took on the Toledo Boomers for a heartbreaking 10-0 loss to end their league season with a record 4-8 at fifth place in the 2A/1A Special District 5. With an overall record of 5-14, the Panthers end their season at rank No. 34 in the OSAA 2A/1A rankings.
The Panthers took a 9-6 victory against Myrtle Point on Tuesday before facing the Toledo Boomers on Friday for their final scheduled game of the season.
The undefeated Boomers defeated the Panthers, 13-2.
The Panthers conclude their league season with an even 6-6 record, tied with the Waldport Irish for third place in the 2A/1A Special District 5. With an overall record of 9-10, the Panthers conclude their season at rank No. 17 in the OSAA 2A/1A rankings.
