The police blotter is a public record of incidents as reported by law enforcement agencies. All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty. The information printed is preliminary and subject to change. The Brookings Police Department provides emergency dispatch services for the City of Brookings as well as Southern Curry County 9-1-1 calls, dispatching for state, county, and local law enforcement, five fire departments, and Cal-Ore ambulance.

Tuesday, July 8:

  • At 6:31 a.m., transients loitering around the Cans for Kids receptacle at 906 Chetco Ave. were advised to move along.
  • At 7:08 a.m., transients illegally camping on South Coast Lumber property at 885 Railroad Street were trespassed and moved along.
  • At 10:02 a.m., a report of disorderly conduct at mile post 362 on U.S. Highway 101.
  • At 11:22 a.m., an uncooperative transient male refused to leave the Goodwill at 890 Chetco Ave. and was trespassed from the location by an officer.
  • At 12:18 p.m., multiple reports of a single-vehicle rollover accident on U.S. Highway 101 in Harbor.
  • At 1:59 p.m., a transient female was directed to pick up her garbage and belongings and move along from the Botanical Gardens on the north bank of Chetco River Road.
  • At 11:10 p.m., a misdemeanor warrant was served by citation in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue.
  • At 11:55 p.m., a report of a vehicle that rolled down a driveway and crashed into a residence in the 800 block of Limbaugh Way.

Thursday, July 9:

  • At 7:50 a.m., a report of a traffic crash with no injuries in the south bank of Chetco River Road.
  • At 10:45 a.m., a report of an unlawful entry of a motor vehicle in the 16100 block of West Hoffeldt Lane.
  • At 11:06 a.m., a transient male was caught shoplifting at Grocery Outlet at 906 Chetco Ave. Items were recovered and the subject trespassed from the store.
  • At 1 p.m., a report of criminal trespassing at the Elks Lodge at 800 Elk Drive.
  • At 1:35 p.m., a report of a violation of a restraining order in the Mill Beach area.
  • At 1:39 p.m., a motorist was cited at Easy and Fern streets for driving with a suspended license and failure to signal.
  • At 3:28 p.m., a ring was reported lost at Fred Meyer at 325 5th St.
  • At 4:38 p.m., a report of a two-vehicle traffic crash with no injuries in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue.
  • At 7:17 p.m., a report of a vehicle that hit the driver’s side mirror of a parked RV in the 600 block of Chetco Avenue.
  • At 8:48 p.m., multiple 911 calls regarding mortar-type fireworks on Old County Road in the area of Pine and Rosichelli streets. An officer located the offender who agreed to stop.

Friday, July 10:

  • At 2:51 p.m., a report of illegal camping in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue.
  • At 4:20 p.m., a report of an abandoned vehicle on Ross Road.
  • At 4:23 p.m., a subject was criminally trespassed from the 400 block of Fern Avenue.
  • At 4:42 p.m., a subject was criminally trespassed from the 16000 block of Highway 101.
  • At 5:16 p.m., a report of theft at the Azalea Park at 640 Old County Road.
  • At 5:55 p.m., a report of criminal trespass in the 500 block of Spruce Street.
  • At 7:30 p.m., a subject was criminally trespassed from the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue.
  • At 8:06 p.m., a report of illegal fireworks in the 400 block of Pine Street.
  • At 9:19 p.m., a report of criminal trespass in the 15100 block of McVay Lane.
  • At 9:52 p.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 98000 block of Court Street.
  • At 11:06 p.m., a report of a traffic crash with no injuries in the 400 block of Oak Street.

Saturday, July 11:

  • At 10:48 a.m., a report of a traffic crash with no injuries at Fred Meyer at 325 5th St.
  • At 11:18 a.m., a report of check fraud in the 97900 block of Toner Lane.
  • At 12:56 p.m., an animal complaint report in the 900 block of Old County Road.
  • At 2:54 p.m., a report of an illegal burn in the 300 block of Birch Street.
  • At 6:26 p.m., a report of a traffic crash with no injuries in the 16400 block of Lower Harbor Road.
  • At 7:51, a report of an assault on the north bank of Chetco River Road.
  • At 8:54 p.m., a report of criminal trespass on Meadow Lane.
  • At 10:26 p.m., a report of an illegal burn in the 99300 block of Stateline Lane.
  • At 11:13 p.m., a report of a fire behind the 96700 block of Demoss Road.

Sunday, July 12:

  • At 5:35 a.m., a motorist was cited at Arnold Street and Chetco Avenue for driving with a suspended license.
  • At 8:51 a.m., a report of theft at Harris Beach in the 1600 block of Highway 101.
  • At 9:21 a.m., a report of illegal camping at West Harris Heights.
  • At 9:38 a.m., a report of criminal trespassing in the 500 block of 5th Street.
  • At 11:50 a.m., a report of theft at Main Street Skate at 625 Chetco Avenue.
  • At 3 p.m., a report of theft in the 900 block of 3rd Street.
  • At 6:07 p.m., a report of a traffic crash with no injuries on Chetco Avenue in front of the laundry mat.

Monday, July 13:

  • At 6:41 a.m., a report of criminal mischief of a bicycle strung up to the Chetco Bridge railing was taken down and discarded by public works.
  • At 9:16 a.m., a report of a fire in the Mill Beach area.
  • At 12:06 p.m., a motor home in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue was cited for illegal camping and tagged for tow.
  • At 1:20 p.m., a report of a hit and run in the 700 block of Chetco Avenue.
  • At 7:32 p.m., a female subject was formally trespassed from the Brookings Inn for disorderly conduct. After again verbally abusing the staff, and being refused alcohol at O’Hollerans for her level of intoxication, she drove away. She was pulled over after the criminal trespass complaint and arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant.
  • At 7:55 p.m., a report of assault on Highway 101 near mile post 353.
  • At 9:50 p.m., a report of illegal fireworks in the 98000 block of West Benham Lane.
  • At 11 p.m., a report of assault in the 99200 block of Winchuck River Road.

Friday, July 3:

  • At 12:31 a.m., a report of harassment in the area of Shorepine Lane.
  • At 3:18 p.m., a report of illegal camping in the area of Motel 6.
  • At 5:01 p.m., a report of a single vehicle accident in the area of Hunter Creek. A 62-year-old male subject was arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant.
  • At 10:43 p.m., a report of a medical accident in the area of 29200 block of Ellensburg Avenue.
  • At 11:06 p.m., a report of trespassing in the area of Third Street.
  • At 11:57 p.m., a report of fireworks on the beach.

Saturday, July 4:

  • At 9:34 a.m., a report of trespassing in the area of Shorepine Lane.
  • At 10:25 a.m., a report of theft in the area of Napa.
  • At 12:22 p.m., a report of a disorderly subject in the area of Ray’s Food Place.
  • At 3:16 p.m., a report of a disorderly subject in the area of Moore Street.
  • At 10:50 p.m., a report of a hazard on the beach in the area of the Curry County Fair Grounds.

  • At 9:05 a.m., a report of an assault in the area of Gold Beach.
  • At 11:20 a.m., a report of harassment in the area of Leith Road.
  • At 2:11 p.m., a report of an assault that occurred in Agness.

Monday, July 6:

  • At 11:42 a.m., report of theft in the area of Ray’s Food Place.
  • At 7:36 p.m., a report of probation violation in the area of Strhan Street. A 31-year-old female subject was arrested for contempt of court.
  • At 7:54 p.m., a report of harassment in the area of Wallace Street.
  • At 8:39 p.m., a report of illegal camping in the area of 29300 block of Ellensburg Avenue.

Tuesday, July 7:

  • At 11:13 a.m., a report of theft in the area of Gold Beach.
  • At 12:39 p.m., a report of criminal Mischief in the area of 10th Street.
  • At 1:24 p.m., an animal complaint in the area of Gauntlet.
  • At 2:21 p.m., a report of trespassing in the area of Fourth Street.
  • At 3:23 p.m., a report of illegal camping in the area of Fifth Place.
  • At 3:47 p.m., a report of trespassing in the area of Sixth Street.

Wednesday, July 8:

  • A 1:27 a.m., a report of harassment in the area of Shorepine Lane.
