The police blotter is an excerpt from public record of incidents as reported by law enforcement agencies. All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty. The information printed is preliminary and subject to change. The Brookings Police Department provides emergency dispatch services for the City of Brookings as well as Southern Curry County 9-1-1 calls, dispatching for state, county, and local law enforcement, five fire departments, and Cal-Ore ambulance. Call logs this week also have been provided by the Gold Beach Police Department and Curry County Sheriff’s Office.

Wednesday, June 10: 

At 1:24 a.m., a motorist was cited on Redwood Street for driving with a suspended license and without insurance.  

At 11:26 a.m., transients at St. Timothy’s Church reported they were victims of theft by unknown suspects from California. 

At 11:28 a.m., a resident in the 1300 block of Moore Street reported spotting a shirtless male subject climbing over the fence onto Spindrift Motel property. 

At 1:33 p.m., an adult male was arrested for shoplifting nearly $850 in merchandise from Fred Meyer at 325 5th St. 

At 5:55 p.m., an adult female subject was cited for criminal trespassing in the 500 block of Spruce Street. 

At 6:48 p.m., Transients yelling and screaming at each other in the 600 block of Old County Road were counselled and advised to keep separated and to keep quiet, 

At 8:50 p.m., a report of two young males on bicycles playing a dangerous game of “chicken” with both northbound and southbound lanes of traffic near Crissey Circle but disappeared into a nearby residence before they could be contacted by officers. 

At 9:07 p.m., one occupant of a transient-owned motor home on Oak Street near Fir Street was advised of city no-camping ordinance and told to move along. A second transient motor home at the location was padlocked and unattended and was tagged for tow. 

At 9:48 p.m., a male guest was trespassed from a motel in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue after harassing staff and behaving in a disorderly manner.  

Thursday, June 11: 

At 1:10 a.m., a male subject parked in a vehicle illegally camping at Mill Beach was advised of park hours and moved along as requested. 

At 1:51 a.m., a female motorist was arrested on Chetco Avenue and Westward Inn for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. 

At 2:47 a.m., a guest wanted a transient male to leave motel property in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. 

At 11:22 a.m., a transient male setting up camp behind a business in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue was trespassed from the property. 

At 12:53 p.m., an apartment resident in the 500 block of Fir Street trespassed a family member from the location. 

At 1:07 p.m., a report of a hit and run in a parking lot of the 500 block of 5th Street. 

At 5:42 p.m., a report of a vehicle crash into a ditch in the 600 block of Old County Road with no injuries. 

At 9:18 p.m., a motorist was cited for speeding 55 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone on Chetco Avenue. 

Friday, June 12: 

At 12:13 a.m., a report of criminal trespass in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue. 

At 7:23 a.m., a report of fire in the Lone Ranch Beach area. 

At 11:59 a.m., an animal complaint in the 600 block of Easy Manor Street. 

At 12:46 p.m., a report of menacing in the 500 block of Fern Avenue. 

At 4:50 p.m., a motorist was cited on U.S. Highway 101 at Zimmerman for driving without insurance. 

At 10:52 p.m., a report of an illegal burn in the 1200 block of Moore Street. 

Saturday, June 13: 

At 1:38 a.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 16000 block of Kings Way. 

At 2:20 a.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 11 block of Easy Street. 

At 8:15 a.m., a report of an authorized use of a vehicle in the 16900 block of Ferry Creek Heights Road. 

At 10:37 a.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 16300 block of Grootendorst Lane. 

At 2:42 p.m., a report of an illegal burn in the 800 block of Julie Drive. 

At 3:44 p.m., a report of harassment in the 300 block of Railroad Street. 

At 6:03 p.m., a report of a recovered stolen vehicle in at Chetco Avenue and Ransom Street. 

At 7:59 p.m., a report of illegal camping in the 400 block of Oak Street. 

At 8:58 p.m., a report of criminal mischief in the 15000 block of U.S. Highway 101. 

Sunday, June 14: 

At 12:20 a.m., a report of criminal trespass in the 15900 block of Bayview Drive. 

At 1:37 a.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 400 block of Oak Street. 

At 5:15 a.m., a report of a traffic crash with no injuries one mile above the south fork of the north bank Chetco Avenue.  

At 9:13 a.m., a report of illegal camping in the Manly Art Center parking lot. 

At 10:36 a.m., a report of an illegal burn in the 800 block of Julie Drive. 

At 12:27 p.m., a report of theft in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue. 

At 4:29 p.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue. 

At 6:01 p.m., a report of a violation of restraining order in the 17800 block of Aqua Vista Lane. 

At 10:58 p.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. 

Monday, June 15: 

At 12:28 a.m., a report of a traffic crash with injuries in the 15300 block of Oceanview Drive. 

At 10:18 a.m., a transient female was trespassed from Food Bank property in the 500 block of Hemlock Street. 

At 1:28 p.m., a report of theft of personal items at Grocery Outlet at 906 Chetco Avenue. 

At 2:13 p.m., police, fire and medical responders rescued a subject with a broken ankle from Secret Beach. 

At 3:29 p.m., a report of theft in the 600 block of Railroad Avenue. 

At 6:02 p.m., a report of a transient illegally camping at the Cappella on the north bank of Chetco River Road. 

At 7:13 p.m., a report of illegal camping on Old County Road. 

At 9:15 p.m., a male motorist was arrested in the Ranch Viejo parking lot for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. 

Tuesday, June 16: 

At 1:26 p.m., a report of a hit and run in the 700 block of Chetco Avenue. 

At 1:31 p.m., a report of criminal mischief in the 15900 block of Bayview Drive. 

At 5:32 p.m., a report of burglary in the 16400 block of Lovell Lane. 

At 7:36 p.m., two drivers were cited for going 57 miles per hour in a 35 zone on U.S. Highway 101 at Ransom Avenue. 

At 10:48 p.m., a report of disorderly conduct in the 500 block of 5th Street.

At 12:59 p.m., a report of harassment in the area of Fifth Place.

At 2:35 p.m., a subject was criminally trespassed from the 7.5-mile mark on Lobster Creek Road. 

At 4:24 p.m., a motorist was cited on the north bank area of Chetco Avenue for driving under the influence of an intoxicant.  

At 5 p.m., a subject was criminally trespassed from Latitude 42 at 16261 U.S. Highway 101. 

Monday, June 8: 

At 12:13 a.m., a report of a traffic accident with injuries on Winchuck River Road. 

At 7:52 a.m., a subject was arrested for second degree theft at the Port of Brookings. 

At 9:46 a.m., a suspect was arrested at the Foster Bar Campground for theft. 

At 2:18 p.m., a report of a traffic accident with no injuries at the 7th Street parking lot. 

At 4:13 p.m., a report of theft in the 32700 block of Nesika Road. 

At 6:23 p.m., a report of assault in the 96400 block of Coverdell Road.
