The police blotter is a public record of incidents as reported by law enforcement agencies. All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty. The information printed is preliminary and subject to change. The Brookings Police Department provides emergency dispatch services for the City of Brookings as well as Southern Curry County 9-1-1 calls, dispatching for state, county, and local law enforcement, five fire departments, and Cal-Ore ambulance. Excerpts from the BPD call logs:

Friday, Aug. 21:

At 11:34 a.m., a subject reported receiving death threats in the 500 block of Chetco Avenue.

At 12:58 p.m., a report of a subject siphoning gas out of a parked vehicle in the 100 block of Del Norte Lane.

At 1:22 p.m., a report of criminal trespass in the 14300 block of Highway 101.

At 3:10 p.m., a report of theft in the 16000 block of Boat Basin Road.

At 5:38 p.m., a report of a suspicious male with what appeared to be blood on pants and shirt in the Pacific Avenue Area. Responding officers were unable to locate the subject.

At 6:01 p.m., a report of a male subject on property in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue refusing to leave and being disruptive. Subject left on his own with incident.

At 6:55 p.m., a report of someone flying a drone dear the highway on Chetco Avenue.

At 7:29 p.m., a report of two transients fighting in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue. Contacted subject denied anything physical, just a dispute over property.

At 7:29 p.m., a male subject was arrested in the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue on two outstanding warrants out of Josephine County.

At 8:28 p.m., a report of illegal fireworks in the 16200 block of Ivy Lane.

At 9:01 p.m., a report of a traffic crash with no injuries in the 1300 block of Easy Street.

At 10:35 p.m., a report of an injured dog on the side of Pacific Avenue. Responding officers were unable to locate the animal.

Saturday, Aug. 22:

At 2:12 a.m., a report of disorderly conduct in the 800 block of Elk Drive.

At 6:53 a.m., a report of a saddle back to a motorcycle broken into in the 500 block of Redwood Street.

At 7:11 a.m., a report of multiple transients sleeping on property in the 300 block of 5th Street.

At 8:30 a.m., a report of a burglary sometime overnight in the 100 block of Schooner Bay Drive.

At 9:43 a.m., a report of an illegal burn in the 16900 block of Shady Lane. Subject was burning in a burn barrel.

At 11:58 a.m., a report of a traffic crash with no injuries in the 400 block of Lone Mountain Road.

At 3:35 p.m., a report of a dog on a leash biting someone in the Mill Beach area. Victim did not want to pursue charges. Dog owner was warned.

At 5:09 p.m., a report of a motor home illegally parked on church property and using outlet without permission in the 600 block of Pacific Avenue. Subject was warned for theft of services.

At 7:10 p.m., a report of an aggressive dog in the Tanbark neighborhood area.

At 8:28 p.m., a report of a large, wild car in the 500 block of Myrtle Street. Report was forwarded to Oregon Department of Fish and Game.

At 8:37 p.m., a report of several transients camping on private property in the Fitfield area. All were moved along.

At 8:48 p.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 19900 block of Whaleshead Road.

At 10:36 p.m., a motorist was cited for driving with a suspended license at Railroad and Pacific streets.

Sunday, Aug. 23:

At 3:10 a.m., a report of illegal fireworks in the Susan Place area.

At 9:36 a.m., a report of a traffic crash with injuries at mile post 343 on Highway 101.

At 9:54 a.m., a report of a dispute/fight in the 97100 block of Dodge Avenue.

At 11:21 a.m., a report of illegal camping at the Brookings Airport at 17368 Parkview Drive.

At 11:37 a.m., an animal complaint reported in the 500 block of Rosichelli Lane.

At 11:42 a.m., a report of a violation of a restraining order at the Brookings Park.At 1:43 p.m., a report of a fire in the Chetco River Bridge area.

At 2:26 p.m., a report of theft in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue.

At 4:55 p.m., a report of an illegal burn in the 16000 block of Boat Basin Road.

At 8:26 p.m., a report of an unlawful entry of a motor vehicle in the Smith River area.

At 9:14 p.m., a report of a traffic crash with injuries in the 17900 block of Rainbow Rock Road.

At 11:10 p.m., a report of criminal trespass on Hemlock Street near Oak Street.
