 Brookings Police Blotter

The police blotter is a public record of incidents as reported by law enforcement agencies. All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty. The information printed is preliminary and subject to change. The Brookings Police Department provides emergency dispatch services for the City of Brookings as well as Southern Curry County 9-1-1 calls, dispatching for state, county, and local law enforcement, five fire departments, and Cal-Ore ambulance. Monday, Nov. 30

At 12:21 a.m., a vehicle occupant playing loud music in the 1200 blcok of Chetco Ave. was warned for noise order ordinance violation and turned it down.

At 4:33 a.m., disorderly conduct reported in the 1600 block of Chetco Ave.

At 10:00 a.m., transient male warned for disorderly conduct in the 700 block of Chetco Ave.

At 10:04 a.m., transient male sleeping in church doorway in the 1600 block of Chetco Ave. was asked to move along and did so.

At 10:47 a.m., citizen on Marina Heights Rd. reported being victim of telephone fraud.

At 12:01 p.m., adult female was cited and released for criminal trespass and theft on previous case.

At 12:40 p.m., transients warned for disorderly conduct on Alder St.

At 1:01 p.m., unknown suspect threw a rock at a business on Hillside Ave., causing window damage.

At 1:54 p.m., harassment reported on Wharf St.

At 3:14 p.m., hit-and-run reported on Fern Ave.

At 4:24 p.m., multiple emergency calls reported a two-vehicle crash resulting in a fire. All occupants got out safely, but both vehicles were completely burned and had to be towed from scene. One driver was cited for reckless driving.

At 9:29 p.m., transient male adult was arrested on the south side of the bridge on a valid warrant out of Curry County. He was cited and released.

Tuesday, Dec. 1

At 12:15 a.m., two transients were formally trespassed from a property in the 1100 block of Chetco Ave. for disorderly conduct.

At 12:48 a.m., transient female warned for disorderly conduct for walking in the middle of Chetco Ave near 5th St.

At 2:11 a.m., an officer formally trespassed a disorderly transient female from a business in the 1100 block of Chetco Ave.

At 4:17 a.m., transient female adult was arrested for criminal trespass after returning to a business from which she had been trespassed in the 1100 block of Chetco Ave. She was released from the police department with a citation.

At 6:52 a.m., adult female transient was arrested for criminal trespass at a business on 5th St. and released with a citation.

At 7:49 a.m., transient female attempted to contact the occupant of a vehicle stopped for a traffic light.

At 8:04 a.m., adult male arrested for criminal trespass at a business on 5th St. and released with a citation.

At 9:39 a.m., officers attempted contact at an unoccupied transient camp on business property in the 1200 block of Chetco Ave.

At 9:47 a.m., officers were unable to locate a female transient reportedly trespassing at a private residence.

At 10:05 a.m., transient female adult has been excluded from all city parks for three months.

At 11:27 a.m., illegal dumping reported in the 1200 block of Chetco Ave.

At 11:58 a.m., disorderly conduct reported on Oak St.; transient male adult acting agitated; no crime.

At 12:33 p.m., transient female adult had traffic backed up on Chetco Ave. near Heather Ln., where she was yelling and hitting vehicles. She was taken into custody on a police officer hold and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

At 12:36 p.m., theft reported on Ransom Ave. Fishing equipment stolen from a boat on private property by unknown suspects.

At 4:39 p.m., transient adult male was arrested on Fir St. on a misdemeanor warrant out of Curry County and released with a court citation.

Wednesday, Dec. 2

At 11:46 a.m., disorderly conduct reported on Shopping Center Ave.

At 5:53 p.m., traffic crash with injury reported on Chetco Ave. south of 5th St. Two vehicle crash, minor injuries. Vehicle towed from scene.

Thursday, Dec. 3

At 8:31 a.m., two transient males camped under the band shell at Azalea Park were advised to gather their items and move along.

At 9:48 a.m., officers responded to a report of a dispute in the 300 block of Chetco Ave. between transients and arrested one male on outstanding warrants. He was cited and released. Neither party wished to pursue criminal charges on the other re: the minor physical dispute.

At 10:04 a.m., threats reported at Brookings Police Dept. Officer took report of threats between two transients.

At 12:03 p.m., disorderly conduct reported on Winchuck River Rd.

At 2:02 p.m., transient male in the 1200 block of Chetco Ave. accused another of stealing from him. The reporting party had outstanding warrants for which he was arrested, cited, and released.

Friday, Dec. 4

At 6:17 a.m., illegal camping reported on Dawson Rd.

At 7:53 a.m., criminal trespass reported on 5th St.

At 8:29 a.m., criminal trespass reported in the 500 block of Chetco Ave.

At 11:28 a.m., forgery/fraud/bad check reported on 5th St.

At 11:39 a.m., criminal trespass reported on Fir St.

At 12:21 p.m., dispute/fight reported at Apple Blossom Ct.

At 1:40 p.m., threats reported on Winchuck River Rd.

At 3:47 p.m., fire reported in the 1200 block of Chetco Ave.

At 5:15 p.m., criminal trespass reported on 5th St.

At 3:58 a.m., dispute/fight reported in the 16000 block of U.S. Highway 101 South.

At 9:06 a.m., deceased subject reported at Sterling Heights Dr.

At 10:31 a.m., illegal burn reported on Valley St.

At 12:10 p.m., disorderly conduct reported on Easy St.

At 7:33 p.m., fire reported on 5th St.

Monday, Dec. 7

At 10:36 a.m., criminal trespass reported on Fir St.

At 1:20 p.m., fire reported on 5th St. was transients barbecuing food.

At 3:04 p.m., criminal trespass reported in the 16400 block of U.S. Highway 101 South.

At 3:50 p.m., criminal trespass reported on Spruce St.

At 5:22 p.m., criminal trespass reported on Oak St. Transient males were loitering at a business were advised to move along and complied.

At 5:51 p.m., subjects working on a van in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Chetco Ave. were asked to relocate and did so.

At 6:19 p.m., transients with campfires were moved off private property on Riverview Dr. after extinguishing the fires.

At 7:01 p.m., assault was reported on Tribur Ln.

At 9:49 p.m., prowler reported on Pioneer Rd.

Tuesday, Dec. 8

At 12:00 a.m., officers following up on an abandoned 911 call contacted two males in the neighborhood fighting. One of them changed his mind about driving away after admitting to alcohol consumption, and the parties separated for the rest of the night.

At 5:05 a.m., a transient couple yelling at each other in the breezeway of an inn in the 1100 block of Chetco Ave. was moved along. The uncooperative female half was formally trespassed from the property by management.

At 6:00 a.m., a transient female was moved along from a store in the 1100 block of Chetco Ave. for disorderly conduct.

At 11:24 a.m., criminal mischief reported. A citizen’s vehicle had the lug nuts of one tire loosened by unknown suspect(s).

At 12:05 p.m., officer took report from citizen of a fraudulent check at the Police Dept.

At 1:34 p.m., forgery/fraud/bad check reported at a bank on 5th St.

At 1:56 p.m., dispute/fight reported on Parkview Dr.

At 8:04 p.m., report of shots fired on Gavin Ln.

At 1:25 p.m., disorderly subject reported on Eighth St.

At 2:02 p.m., missing person reported in the area of Sebastian Shores. Subject was located and returned home.
