Excerpts from the call logs of the Brookings Police Department:

Monday, Jan. 13

At 12:32 a.m. Officer responded to a verbal dispute at an apartment complex on 5th Street. Both parties were warned for disorderly conduct.

At 10:21 a.m. Officer collected an unattended backpack from private business property on Alder Street.

At 1:17 p.m. Tree down reported on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 343-344.

At 4:02 p.m. Verbal family dispute reported on Azalea Park Road. One-half had left upon officer arrival.

At 4:13 p.m. Citizen reported witnessing a verbal and physical dispute on Pioneer Road. Responding officer counseled involved parties, who separated for the day.

Tuesday, Jan. 14

At 7:14 a.m. Theft reported on Lucky Lane. Maroon and black Fit-brand bike was stolen by unknown suspect sometime during the night.

At 9:04 a.m. Dispute/fight reported on Azalea Road. Officer responded to family dispute.

At 9:27 a.m. Littering reported on Alder Street. Abandoned BBQ grill that was blocking a driveway was picked up for disposal by Public Works.

At 11:25 a.m. Intoxicated female at medical center became disorderly. She was discharged from medical care and released to a parent.

At 12:07 p.m. Abandoned vehicle on Chetco Avenue and Lucky Lane that had been parked on street for several months was tagged for tow.

At 1:55 p.m. Male in bushes on Pacific Street was looking for a lost item.

At 3:46 p.m. Officer warned male suspect for telephonic harassment in Brookings.

At 4:40 p.m. Female transient was warned for disorderly conduct on Alder Street.

At 4:57 p.m. Fire reported across from Marina Heights Road was a controlled burn.

At 6:53 p.m. Suspicious conditions reported on Ferry Creek Heights.

At 7:25 p.m. Verbal dispute between family members was resolved on 2nd Street.

At 7:41 p.m. Adult male transient was arrested for disorderly conduct at a business on Railroad Street. He was cited and released to a family member.

At 11:58 p.m. Officer investigating reported threats on 6th Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

At 1:26 a.m. Deceased subject reported on Easy Street.

At 7:01 a.m. Theft reported on 2nd Street.

At 10:34 a.m. Harassment reported on Pacific Avenue.

At 11:05 a.m. Officer assisted city with serving a notice of exclusion from all Brookings city parks to transients camped illegally in Azalea Park.

At 11:09 a.m. Transient male adult arrested on North Bank Chetco River Road on a valid circuit court warrant out of Jackson County. He was arrested and released with a date to appear due to his high level of intoxication.

At 12:14 p.m. Dispute/fight reported in Smith River.

At 12:22 p.m. Transient male sleeping alongside a business on 5th Street was asked to move along and did so.

At 12:29 p.m. A light pole on Taco Bell fell, grazing a vehicle in the drive-through lane. Officer assisted the vehicle’s owner in exchanging information with the business for insurance reporting.

At 12:38 p.m. Two suspicious men at the bathrooms in Azalea Park were gone upon officer’s arrival.

At 3:16 p.m. Several transients on Alder Street denied having been in a physical dispute, as reported.

At 4:39 p.m. Tree reported down on Del Norte Lane.

At 8:50 p.m. Dispute/fight reported on Easy Manor Drive.

At 8:21 p.m. Theft reported on Fir Street, resulting in arrest of 28-year-old male, Brookings.

At 3:53 p.m. Illegal dumping reported on Old Coast Road, Gold Beach.

At 4:36 p.m. Assault reported on East Hoffeldt Lane, Harbor.
