The information printed is preliminary and subject to change. The Brookings Police Department provides emergency dispatch services for the City of Brookings as well as Southern Curry County 9-1-1 calls, dispatching for state, county, and local law enforcement, five fire departments, and Cal-Ore ambulance.

Excerpts from the BPD call logs:

Wednesday, Nov. 18

At 12:00 a.m., two transient males loitering on church property on Old County Rd. were moved along.

At 2:04 a.m., officer contacted a suspicious person reportedly walking around in a gated community on Chetco Point Terrace. As a guest at one of the homes, he was advised to stay on that property and not wander through other peoples yards.

At 9:59 a.m., transients were directed to put out their warming fire and move off private property near Bridge St.; they complied.

At 11:01 a.m., officer assisted citizens on Arch Ln. with resolution possibilities for a civil matter.

At 11:09 a.m., transient panhandling at Chetco Ave. and 5th St. was counseled on city ordinance regarding same.

At 2:53 p.m., transient female was warned for disorderly conduct for trying to order food on foot at the drive-through window of Taco Bell; she was trespassed from the property for the remainder of the day.

At 4:11 p.m., young child wandering around on W. Hoffeldt Ln. was returned to her residence.

At 5:28 p.m., officer took report on 5th St. of an assault that had occurred earlier at or near the Skate Park; investigation continuing.

At 7:11 p.m., two transients were arrested for Theft II and Criminal Trespass II after attempting to steal merchandise from a store on Wharf St. They have both been formally trespassed from the property indefinitely.

Thursday, Nov. 19

At 8:26 a.m., hit-and-run reported on 5th St.

At 11:30 a.m., criminal mischief reported on Olsen Ln.

At 12:31 p.m., dispute/fight reported on Parkview Dr.

At 1:34 p.m., intoxicated female adult who drove herself to the ER was arrested for DUII. Her vehicle was parked and left at location. She was released from the police department after processing.

Friday, Nov. 20

At 12:40 a.m., deceased subject reported on Tolman Ln.

At 10:19 a.m. disorderly conduct reported at Fir St. and Old County Rd.

At 11:02 a.m., criminal trespass reported on Pacific St.

At 11:46 a.m., disorderly conduct reported in the 16200 block of U.S. Highway 101 South.

At 2:23 p.m., deceased subject reported on Crestwood Pl.

At 5:02 p.m., fire reported on U.S. Highway 101 at N. Harris Beach.

At 6:48 p.m., fire reported on Myrtle St.

At 6:57 p.m., forgery/fraud/bad check reported on Lower Harbor Rd.

At 8:58 p.m., disorderly conduct reported on Easy Manor Dr.

At 7:06 p.m., illegal fireworks reported on Coverdell Rd.

At 1:00 p.m., threats reported on Foxglove Ln.

At 1:39 p.m., disorderly conduct reported on Old County Rd.

At 1:46 p.m., fire reported on Mount Emily Rd.

At 1:51 p.m., harassment reported on Marina Heights Rd.

At 4:52 p.m., fire reported near Gardener Ridge Rd.

At 5:46 p.m., disorderly conduct reported in the 1200 block of Chetco Ave.

At 7:25 p.m., illegal fireworks reported on Pelican Bay Dr.

At 8:57 p.m., violation of a restraining order reported on Railroad St.

Sunday, Nov. 22

At 11:10 a.m., deceased subject reported on Parkview Dr.

At 4:11 p.m., disorderly conduct reported in the 1100 block of Chetco Ave.

Monday, Nov. 23

At 12:02 a.m., dispute/fight reported on Coverdell Rd.

At 10:55 a.m., threats reported on Old County Rd. Citizen turned over some firearms for safekeeping.

At 11:25 a.m., subject involved in verbal dispute on Fir St. was transported to Curry Community Health.

At 2:42 p.m., verbal dispute among transients reported on Fir St.

At 4:19 p.m., disorderly conduct reported in the 1200 block of Chetco Ave. Officers responded to a verbal dispute in which a landline phone was broken by one of the involved. No one wished to be a victim.

At 4:45 p.m., deceased subject reported at John’s Place.

At 5:25 p.m., officer investigated a report of a previously trespassed transient staying overnight on church property on Fir St.
