Excerpts from the call logs of the Brookings Police Department:

Wednesday, Jan. 29

At 3:33 a.m. Suspicious conditions about a transient reported from Chetco Bridge to the library.

At 4:20 a.m. Adult female transient crashed her bike at Alder and Spruce Streets; she declined offers of medical assistance and was advised to get proper lighting on bike for night riding.

At 6:51 a.m. Suspicious conditions reported on Mendy Street.

At 1:29 p.m. A customer at a restaurant in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue attempted to dissuade a visibly intoxicated male from driving away from the restaurant but was unsuccessful. Officers located the vehicle and arrested the driver, whose blood alcohol level was over two times the legal limit. This was his second DUII for the month. Driver was released to a sober adult after processing.

At 1:57 p.m. Suspicious conditions reported at Crissey Field.

At 2:23 p.m. Female transient being loud and disorderly in the library was trespassed from the library for the next month.

At 6:06 p.m. Pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near a drive through in the 700 block of Chetco Avenue. He sustained minor injuries but remained conscious and was transported to Curry Medical, where a parent responded. Report to follow.

At 6:32 p.m. Suspicious conditions reported on Gerlach Lane and U.S. Highway 101.

At 7:31 p.m. Dispute/fight reported in the 16200 block of U.S. Highway 101 South.

At 8:54 p.m. Theft reported at a business on 5th Street.

At 9:47 p.m. Theft reported at a business on 5th Street.

At 9:48 p.m. Tree down reported at the Brookings rest area.

At 11:07 p.m. Suspicious conditions reported on Railroad Avenue.

Thursday, Jan. 30

At 2:11 a.m. Suspicious conditions reported on Pine Street.

At 4:19 a.m. Transient male camped on property in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue was advised he was trespassing on private property. He gathered his belongings and moved along as directed.

At 7:05 a.m. Suspicious conditions reported on Park Avenue.

At 8:40 a.m. Three transients were allowed to complete their laundry but were then trespassed from a Brookings laundromat in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue for disorderly conduct.

At 9:10 a.m. Two transients huddled under a business entrance on Alder Street were formally trespassed from the property.

At 9:13 a.m. Officer assisted parties involved in a minor fender bender with exchanging information at a parking lot in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue. Not a hit-and-run, as reported.

At 10:03 a.m. Officer following up on a theft from a business on 5th Street.

At 12:11 p.m. Dispute fight reported between transients in the 16200 block of U.S. Highway 101 South.

At 12:24 p.m. Officer assisted citizen with a telephonic harassment complaint in Brookings.

At 5:03 p.m. Officer responded to reports of a physical dispute at a business on Fern Avenue. Parties contacted admitted to having had a verbal argument and slamming a door, which caused items to fall. There was no evidence of physical injury to either person; no crime.

At 7:46 p.m. Transient male trespassed from an apartment complex on Fifield Street.

At 11:21 p.m. Transient was advised to move along in the 1200 block of Chetco Avenue and did so.

At 11:26 p.m. Transient male was going through trash cans on Oak Street and was advised by an officer that he may be

arrested for offensive littering if the mess is not picked up.

At 11:34 p.m. Officer went out at a residence on Azalea Park Road where a vehicle was parked with an open door. He confirmed with

the owner that it had been accidentally left open by the driver a few minutes earlier; no crime.

At 11:34 p.m. Two transients on Fir Street complied when asked to move along.

At 11:47 p.m. Two minors were cited for minor in possession on Hub Street; report to follow.

Friday, Jan. 31

At 12:35 a.m. Dispute/fight reported on Chinook Lane.

At 4:29 a.m. Unauthorized use of a vehicle reported on Pioneer Road.

At 5:33 a.m. Suspicious conditions reported on Alder Street.

At 9:15 a.m. Theft reported at Mill Beach.

At 10:14 a.m. Criminal trespass reported in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

At 11:15 a.m. Illegal dumping reported on Wharf Street.

At 5:14 p.m. Dispute/fight reported on Court Street.

At 5:39 p.m. Disorderly conduct reported in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

At 6:44 p.m. Fire reported in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

At 7:58 p.m. Dispute/fight reported on Pacific Avenue.

At 8:20 p.m. Disorderly conduct reported on 5th Street.

At 10:18 p.m. Criminal trespass reported on Winchuck River Road.

At 10:52 p.m. Dispute/fight reported on Sherwood Lane.

At 1:03 a.m. Disorderly conduct reported on Ransom Avenue.

At 3:30 a.m. Suspicious conditions reported in the 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

At 3:42 a.m. Assault reported in the 15600 block of U.S. Highway 101 South.

At 9:56 a.m. Stalking reported on Pacific Avenue.

At 10:59 a.m. Criminal trespass reported on 5th Street.

At 2:07 p.m. Harassment reported on 4th Street.

At 2:59 p.m. Theft reported on Railroad Street.

At 4:26 p.m. Fire reported at Chetco Point.

At 4:46 p.m. Hit-and-run reported on 5th Street.

At 5:00 p.m. Criminal trespass reported on Ross Road.

At 6:31 p.m. Hit-and-run reported in the 700 block of Chetco Avenue.

At 6:44 p.m. Dispute/fight reported on Johns Place.

At 4:06 p.m. Report of an intoxicated subject in the area of Fourth Street. A 33-year-old male issued a citation for possession of a controlled substance, heroin.
