The police blotter is an excerpt from public record of incidents as reported by law enforcement agencies. All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty. The Brookings Police Department provides emergency dispatch services for the City of Brookings as well as Southern Curry County 9-1-1 calls, dispatching for state, county, and local law enforcement, five fire departments, and Cal-Ore ambulance.

Wednesday, March 10

• At 2:44 a.m., a dispute was reported in the 17500 block of Chinook Lane.

• At 7:15 a.m., an animal complaint was received at Highway 101 and Theater.

• At 9:13 a.m., a report of suspicious conditions was received on North Bank Chetco River Road.

• At 11:40 a.m., a caller reported a criminal trespass in the 500 block of Hemlock Street.

• At 12:15 p.m., a fire was reported in the 16300 block of Grootendorst.

• At 12:44 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check in the 16400 block of Lovell Lane.

• At 12:51 p.m., a report of illegal camping was reported in the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue. Officers tagged a small bus for tow.

• At 2:55 p.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported in the 16200 block of Highway 101.

• At 5:08 p.m., a report of suspicious conditions was received on West Harris Heights.

• At 8:03 p.m., police conducted a welfare check in the 300 block of 5th Street.

• At 8:51 p.m., a fight was reported in the 15200 block of Highway 101.

• At 11:24 p.m., a caller reported having person items and loose change stolen from a vehicle in the 600 block of Chetco.

Thursday, March 11

• At 6:51 a.m., found property was turned into the Brookings Police Department.

• At 2:42 p.m., police responded to the 800 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported receiving threats.

• At 3:02 p.m., police formally trespassed a man from a business in the 800 block of Chetco Avenue.

• At 4:55 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check on the railroad near the post office.

• At 6:04 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of Fern Avenue after a caller reported a fight.

• At 6:26 p.m., officers arrested a woman who tried to elude them after a routine traffic stop.

• At 11:52 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported loud noises from a large group of people.

Friday, March 12

• At 1:09 a.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Fifield Street after receiving a report of a physical dispute. When officers arrived, the parties were separated, and no one wanted to press charges.

• At 9:04 a.m., officers conducted a welfare check in the 1200 block of Moore Street.

• At 10:30 a.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported verbal threats between neighbors.

• At 10:46 p.m., a caller reported a loose boxer in the 1000 block of Chetco. Officers were unable to locate the dog.

• At 12:23 p.m., police responded to Pacific and Fern after a caller reported a physical dispute between parties.

• At 1:01 p.m., police received a report of a possible kidnapping in the 600 block of Chetco. Officers determined there was no kidnapping.

• At 1:08 p.m., police responded to Arnold Street and located a stolen trailer. They returned the trailer to its owner.

• At 4:44 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check in the 900 block of Helen Lane.

• At 5:09 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the 98000 block of Gerlach Lane after receiving a complaint regarding a fight. It was determined it was verbal only.

• At 5:34 p.m., a traffic accident with injuries was reported on Thompson Road.

• At 7:32 p.m., officers formally trespassed a transient man from the 900 block of Chetco Avenue.

• At 10:27 p.m., police responded to the 300 block of Matot Street after a caller reported a suspicious vehicle on the street. Officers determined the driver of the vehicle was witing for a friend.

Saturday, March 13

• At 4:34 a.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported a man was yelling behind the location. Officers were unable to locate the man.

• At 7:15 a.m., a caller reported his vehicle had been burglarized in the area of Pacific and Highway 101.

• At 8:42 a.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Chetco after a caller reported a fight in progress. Police determined it was verbal only and no crime had been committed.

• At 9:30 a.m., a caller reported a vehicle with both driver’s side doors open at Harris Beacfh State Park.

• At 3 p.m., police responded to the 600 block of Old County Road and asked a transient man to collect his belongings and leave.

• At 6:10 p.m., a dispute was reported in the 98000 block of West Benham Lane.

• At 7:04 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check in the 200 block of Earl Street.

• At 7:07 p.m., police responded to the 1000 block of Chetco after a caller reported a vehicle break-in.

• At 10:26 p.m., a traffic accident was reported on Highway 101 near Latitude 42.

Sunday, March 14

• At 12:19 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of Oak Street and talked to people in a car at the closed business.

• At 5:15 a.m., police served a parole board warrant by citation in the 300 block of South Hazel.

• At 10:40 a.m., a traffic accident was reported on West Ocean Drive.

• At 12:18 p.m., a caller reported illegal camping in the 600 block of Old County Road.

• At 5:36 p.m., a caller complained of loud music in the 96900 block of Hampton Road. The music was turned down when the officer requested.

• At 7:06 p.m., a caller reported suspicious conditions in the 16200 block of Highway 101.

Monday, March 15

• At 5:08 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop at Chetco and Center and warned the driver for speeding.

• At 11:43 a.m., an animal complaint was received at Chetco Point Park.

• At 12:02 p.m., a disabled vehicle was reported on Highway 101 near North Bank.

• At 1:19 p.m., a criminal trespass complaint was received in the 600 block of Hemlock.

• At 2:24 p.m., a caller reported suspicious conditions in the 300 block of Spruce.

• At 5:03 p.m., police responded to the 16000 block of Driftwood Lane after a caller reported disorderly conduct.

• At 7:27 p.m., a theft was reported in the 98100 block of West Benham Lane.

• At 8:15 p.m., police responded to the area across from Lucky Lane and warned a transient couple for misuse of 911.

• At 9 p.m., a caller reported an assault in the 97800 block of Court Street.
