The Brookings Police Department provides emergency dispatch services for the City of Brookings as well as Southern Curry County 9-1-1 calls, dispatching for state, county, and local law enforcement, five fire departments, and Cal-Ore ambulance.

Wednesday, March 24

• At 8:57 a.m., an animal complaint was received in the 1000 block of Parkview Drive.

• At 9:49 a.m., a caller reported a traffic hazard on Chetco south of Parkview.

• At 11:36 a.m., a caller reported a hit-and-run accident in the 300 block of Spruce Drive.

• Between 1:32 and 2:13 p.m., officers conducted four traffic stop on Chetco Avenue.

• At 2:13 p.m., a fire was reported in the 16000 block of Boat Basin Drive.

• At 4:34 p.m., a caller reported suspicious conditions in the 200 block of Cypress Street.

• At 6:13 p.m., a dispute was reported in the 16300 block of Grootendorst Lane.

• At 8:20 p.m., a caller reported a theft of a personal item in the 500 block of Fir Street.

Thursday, March 25

• At 9:16 a.m., police responded to the 300 block of Spruce Drive to attempt to help find a runaway.

• At 10:05 a.m., a caller reported being harassed by telephone in the 100 block of Seal Cliff Terrace.

• At 12:31 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Easy Street and arrested a man for violating a restraining order.

• At 2:26 p.m., police made contact with a man at the library in reference to violating a city ordinance.

• At 2:54 p.m., a caller reported their vehicle license plate was stolen in Brookings.

• At 3:15 p.m., police cited and released a transient man for an outstanding warrant.

• At 3:35 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of Fern Avenue in an attempt to locate a suspicious vehicle.

• At 3:40 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of Fir Street after a caller reported a trespass. While there was no order for the man to stay away, he gathered his belongings and left.

• Between 9:49 and 11:49 p.m., officers made four traffic stops along Chetco Avenue.

Friday, March 26

• At 12:45 a.m., police cited and released a person on an outstanding warrant in the 1600 block of Highway 101.

• At 1:50 a.m., police assisted an outside agency in looking for a vehicle in the 300 block of Railroad Avenue.

• At 3:57 a.m., a caller reported suspicious conditions in the 17800 block of Aqua Vista Lane.

• At 8:04 a.m., police responded to the 400 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported a missing mandolin. Police were able to locate the mandolin and return it to its owner.

• At 12:50 p.m., police assisted a man who was being verbally harassed at Azalea Park.

• At 1:42 p.m., police responded to Rowland after a caller reported a person who was always speeding in the area. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

• At 1:49 p.m., a fire was reported on southbound Chetco River Road.

• At 1:52 p.m., a traffic accident was reported in the 300 block of 5th Street.

• At 2:08 p.m., a caller reported there damage to a door in the 500 block of Fern Avenue after someone tried to enter it.

• At 4:41 p.m., a traffic accident was reported at Chetco and Pacific Sushi.

• At 9 p.m., a caller reported hearing gunshots in the 16000 block of Boat Basin Road.

• At 9:20 p.m., police cited and released a transient man for an outstanding warrant in the 1100 block of Chetco.

• At 10:46 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of Alder Street after a caller reported vehicles driving erratically. Officers contacted people and determined it was in a relation to a game earlier in the day. The subjects were counseled on speed.

• At 11:39 p.m., police responded to the 1200 block of Chetco after a caller reported a disorderly subject. Officers assisted in the getting the parties to settle down.

Saturday, March 27

• At 1:51 a.m., police noticed an open door at a residence in the 800 block of Paradise. Police contacted the owners, who confirmed nothing was missing.

• At 1:51 a.m., police responded to the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported someone was at the address. When police arrived, they were unable to locate anyone.

• At 8:05 a.m., a caller reported a dispute at Chetco Point. Police responded and the parties were separated.

• At 11:02 a.m., a caller reported criminal mischief in the 97800 block of Shopping Center Avenue.

• At 11:35 a.m., a caller reported being harassed in the Brookings area.

• At 12:40 p.m., a caller reported a bag with medication inside was stolen in Brookings.

• At 1:35 p.m., a hit-and-run accident was reported at the Harbor Port.

• At 3:03 p.m., police stopped and assisted two people who said they were being followed in the 800 block of Elk Drive.

• At 4:32 p.m., an animal complaint was received at the south end of the Chetco Bridge.

• At 4:47 p.m., police formally trespassed a person from two locations in Brookings.

• At 6:56 p.m., police conducted a welfare check in the 95800 block of Eggers Road.

• At 8:07 p.m., a caller reported criminal trespass in the 15500 block of Delce Lane.

• At 9:28 p.m., police responded to the 1600 block of Highway 101 after a caller reported a disorderly man. Police formally trespassed the man and asked him to leave.

Sunday, March 28

• Between 12:09 and 12:54 a.m., police conducted five traffic stops on Chetco and Highway 101. Once driver was arrested for DUII.

• At 8:57 a.m., park rangers asked a man to extinguish a fire on Harris Beach and he became disorderly. Police responded and cited the man with a misdemeanor warrant and released him with a citation. He was also trespassed from the beach for 72 hours.

• At 9:42 a.m., a fire was reported on Pelican Bay Drive. The fire turned out to be a controlled burn.

• At 10:30 a.m., police conducted a welfare check in the 500 block of Fern.

• At 2:07 p.m., an animal complaint was received in the 1000 block of 7th Street.

• At 2:14 p.m., a caller reported a case of harassment in the 800 block of Limbaugh Way.

• At 4:07 p.m., a caller reported disorderly conduct in the 16200 block of Highway 101.

• At 5:10 p.m., an animal complaint was received in the 400 block of Mill Beach Road.

• At 6:06 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check in the 99100 block of Kemlin Place.

• At 8:57 p.m., a traffic accident was reported in the 16000 block of Highway 101.

• At 9:05 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop at Fern and Spruce and arrested a woman for DUII. She was cited and released to a sober individual.

Monday, March 29

• At 12:01 a.m., a caller reported disorderly conduct in the 16000 block of Boat Basin Road.

• At 7:38 a.m., a traffic accident was reported on Highway 101 near milepost 351.

• At 9:33 a.m., police received a report of forgery in the 300 block of Spruce Drive.

• At 9:53 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Spruce and Alder. The driver was cited for driving while suspended and failure to insure vehicle. A licensed family member was contacted to move the car.

• At 11:51 a.m., police cited and released an adult mail on a circuit court warrant on Oak Street.

• At 11:58 a.m., a traffic accident was reported at Grocery Outlet.

• At 1:23 p.m., police responded to Mill Beach and separated a group of transients that were fighting and screaming.

• At 2:36 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Spruce Street. The driver was cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured.

• At 3:07 p.m., a caller reported a criminal trespass in the 15800 block of Seacliff Drive.

• At 5:44 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop at Highway 101 and Court Street and cited the driver for driving while suspended, speeding and failure to carry current proof of insurance.

• At 6:07 p.m., a dispute was reported in the 500 block of Fir Street.

• At 7:41 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of Fifield Street and arrested a transient man for domestic menacing.

• At 8:27 p.m., a caller reported disorderly conduct in the 300 block of 5th Street.
