Chamber of Commerce Mixer

The Brookings-Harbor Chamber of Commerce hosted their first mixer since the pandemic on Friday, July 29, hosted by Terry Adams and his family at Barron’s Furnishings.

“He’s one of the pioneers of these mixer events – usually holding the biggest mixers back in the day,” said Marie Curtis, the co-owner of Re/Max Coast and Country Real estate and the director of the chamber’s marketing department. “We are so grateful for his efforts to be an active chamber member and all they do for the local community.”

Chamber members are encouraging everyone to come and be part of the mixers.

“There's raffle prizes, food and drinks – and it creates an opportunity to visit the business owners’ place of business when they host the events,” Curtis said. “Most importantly it’s a great opportunity to network, and, if for no other reason, just reconnect with the community and meet new faces in the community.”

The Brookings-Harbor Chamber includes a variety of members, from locals who work from home, brick and mortar businesses, retail, restaurant, real estate, marketing and local organizations, and more.

Chamber members get networking and marketing opportunities and an online presence to support their businesses. The Chamber also volunteers to help with charitable functions to support and give back to the community.

“We are the voice for our local business community.” Curtis said.

The Chamber is growing stronger than ever with a lot of new energy to support local businesses and provide all kinds of resources to the community, she said.

“The Chamber today is proactively working to ensure our area is forward moving, prospering, and is a place that people want to live and do business,” Curtis said.

When people see the business community is thriving, they’ll pour it back into the community by buying homes and cars, taking out loans, eating at restaurants and shopping in local stores, she said.

“What we do is not only important, it is essential to the growth and stability of the Southern Oregon Coast,” Curtis said.
