Dear Editor: The impeachment of President Donald Trump reminds me of the Salem witch trials where bad men sent good women to the stake to burn. These were beautiful women who were gifted.

Many men at the time though attracted to them felt nonetheless threatened. They felt that if they allowed these women their power, that they would do us harm and so they had to go. And so, they convinced the village that these women should be rounded up and burned to save the town.

I see little difference between these men and U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler and House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff.

And like the men of old, they’re in a mad rush to bring the President to the stake and burn him and they want us all to watch. They pretend that it’s a solemn day for them, but it isn’t.

They revel in the thought of waking tomorrow with Trump gone. Between themselves they hum “Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead.” That’s what is truly sad.
