The Daughters of the American Revolution has partnered with the United States Department of Defense to thank and honor veterans of the Vietnam War for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the United States.

The partnership is also and effort to thank and honor veterans of the Vietnam War, including personnel who were held as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action, for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the United States and to thank and honor the families of these veterans.

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, Vietnam Veterans will be honored at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day, November 11, with a Veterans Day Program located at the Curry County Veterans Memorial in Gold Beach on Ellensburg Ave.

If you are a United States veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time during the period of November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, regardless of location and have not previously been honored in Brookings or Gold Beach, you are eligible to receive a lapel pin and a certificate. Veterans that are eligible for the pin and certificate are requested to RSVP at 541-247-2371 with the correct spelling of their name, branch of service and a contact number.
