We see that Curry County Electric Coop. is again raising their rates. They excuse themselves as the last time was in 2016 so they are justified in doing it again. But they say it is only a small increase of 2.23%.

Well...I don’t know how many others fare, but that last 3% resulted in $20 to $40 increase a month in my electric bill! Is everyone in Curry County ready to have their electric bill jump from $20 to $40 a month every few years? My income doesn’t keep pace with that! I’ll have to keep working until I am 90 years old.

That looks like planned inflation to me. Who is it that benefits from inflation? Will anyone object?

Is this rise in rates justified? Winston Churchill said, “The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.”
