As of this writing, only .0094% in Curry County has been tested for COVID-19. The lack of testing is a national disgrace. There is no cure or vaccine — only prevention from exposure. COVID-19 is an asymptotic, highly contagious virus spreading globally.

CDC has recommended wearing a mask or scarf covering your mouth and nose when out in public. They are the best way to prevent you from spreading the virus to others, not others from spreading it to you. It’s called being considerate of others.

As reported in our local newspaper and on Facebook the reopen Oregon rallies here in Curry County show pictures of participants without scarves or masks.

I cringe at the lack of concern being displayed to others and to the community.

You have a right to protest and even openly carry guns. But you should think about who you are potentially spreading a virus to at the rally and when you return home.

Taking precautions as recommended will help businesses open sooner.
