I work at one of our local stores. In speaking with coworkers and other clerks in the area there is something I need you to know.

We are hurting too. We are feeling unsafe and vulnerable. We do not have a choice to stay home and stay safe.

Here’s how you can help. Recognize that we are not therapists. Please find other avenues to take out your annoyance and frustrations.

Recognize that we do not control the supply chain or corporate decisions. We are just as surprised as you when we come to work to find barriers etc.

We are working because it has been decided that we are necessary for your life. Please don’t shop because you’re bored. Please get what you need and leave. Don’t touch everything. We have to clean it.

If you must take a small child in, please hold their hand so they don’t touch everything.

Please keep your opinions on how we got here or who’s at fault to yourself. We are just trying to get through the day. Believe it or not, your opinion is not original. We’ve heard it 50 times already today.

Please keep your distance from us. We are trying to be helpful and friendly. Please help us to stay safe and sane.
