Dear Editor: Last week, strong veteran supporter, Curry County commissioner and jet boat pilot Court Boice took many of us up the Rogue River for a fine day of sights, wildlife, history and a well-prepared dinner at Cougar Lane Lodge.

He had done pretty much the same for veterans last month.  He calls it “river therapy.”

Court is very thankful for veterans. As he tells us, he just missed the draft as it ended two months before he turned 18.  He remembers some who didn’t return from Vietnam.

Court’s local family spans his grandfather, father and uncles.  Along with Court’s years of Rogue River piloting, he has much volunteer time.

This donated trip couldn’t be possible without the donation of Jerry’s Jet Boats. Also, Oceanside Diner’s very generous donation, and those helping behind the scenes. Thank you.
