From June 16 through August 5, the Chetco Library, working with the Food Bank, BOB the Bus, and the Brookings Harbor School District, gave away over 4,000 Summer Youth Activity Bags containing STEM, craft, and literacy items to local children from the ages of 0 to 18.

The Chetco Library would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the following organizations, businesses, and individuals who provided very generous funding and donation of materials toward the creation of the Summer Youth Activity Bags:

  • AllCare Health
  • Advanced Health
  • KASPER
  • Brookings Harbor Education Foundation (BHEF)
  • Curry County Health Foundation
  • Ben Nolan
  • Oregon State LIbrary Ready to Read
  • Brookings Fred Meyer
  • Brookings McDonalds
  • Brookings Dairy Queen
  • Brookings Grocery Outlet

We are also very grateful to all the many volunteers who donated their time in assembling activity bags and to the many community agencies and local businesses who helped in advertising and distributing the bags to area youths and families.

With great appreciation,

Lorene Forman
