In response to Ann Williams letter January 13. Brookings used to be such a nice quiet little town. Remember? But, sadly, reasonable people at city hall have been replaced with rednecks and people who just can't seem to get a grasp on where we are going and how to keep Brookings a nice place to live.
Mayor Hedenskog wants to keep his darling Janell Howard at the city so badly he no longer looks like the reasonable person he used to be. It's so ridiculous I cannot help but think there's some kind of monkey business involved. It's a small town. We all know. All one has to do is Google Janell Howard vs. Coos Bay to get the overall picture of why she is in such trouble. If it walks like a duck ... And Hedenskog himself is so smug, he forgets that in the last election he only won because he got more votes than the other two candidates but, he did not get a majority of the votes of the citizens. Hedenskog has lost his credibility. Yes, we all know about Ms. Howard - all the businesses that put out "gone to lunch" signs when they see her pull into their lot. We all know, it's just not official enough to bounce her out on her ear as she deserves.
