Stephen Leonard Donnelly

Stephen Leonard Donnelly, 74, of Brookings, Oregon, after a brief illness passed away peacefully in his sleep at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass, Oregon on Thursday August 5th, 2021.

Stephen was born on December 7th, 1946 in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, to the late Hugh Leonard Donnelly and Dorothea Donovan Donnelly.

He graduated from Utah State Provo with a Bachelor’s in American Studies, and also graduated from the University of Idaho Moscow with a Master’s in Forestry focusing on trees and plants including tropical plants.

After graduating from the University of Idaho he moved to McCall, Idaho, where he worked for the U.S. Forest Service for thirty years.

Stephen loved to fish, he was the happiest when he was out on the ocean with a fishing pole in hand. He also enjoyed hunting for wild game.

In his spare time he would love to do crossword puzzles.

He is survived by his mother Dorothea Donovan Donnelly of North Attleborough, Massachusetts, sister Noreen Donnelly of Adams, Massachusetts, brothers Michael Donnelly and Hugh W. Donnelly of North Attleborough, Massachusetts, son Stephen Leonard Donnelly II, of Adams, Massachusetts, step daughter Beth Ann Walker of Gallatin, Tennessee, Nephew Christopher Donnelly of Arizona, niece Shannon Donnelly of Colorado, and aunts and cousins.

Stephen is predeceased by his father Hugh L. Donnelly, his ex-wife Elizabeth Elda Donnelly, and son William Mason Donnelly.

A memorial Mass will be held on Friday August, 13, 2021 at 2:00 P.M., at star of the Sea Catholic Church, 820 Old County Road, Brookings, OR, 97415.

We all have Loved him in life, let us continue to keep Stephen in our hearts, thoughts and prayers, as he will be missed dearly!
