Mickey went to his heavenly home on June 18, 2020. Mickey was born to Leon and Mildred Burgess on Oct. 12, 1950, in Grants Pass, Oregon.. His family moved to Brookings in 1959, where Mickey went to school and graduated. He then went to Lane Community College and became a diesel mechanic. He was also in the Army National Guard from 1971-1977.

He worked in several places before returning to Brookings.

After working as a mechanic and service manager for more that 35 years, he changed careers and went to work at Pelican Bay State Prison and retired after ten years.

He leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Donna; son, Brian (Jenny) Burgess, Angi (Doug) Herbison, stepson Shane (Krystal) Summer, step-daughters Stephanie (Grant) Morthole, Danielle (Tobey) Hargrove, as well as 16 grandkids and one great-grandson.

Also a brother, Ron (Ramona) Burgess and several aunts, uncle, and cousins.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Mildred Burgess.He will be greatly missed.
