Don E. Brewer was born October 22, 1937 in Gold Beach, Oregon to U.E. & Gladys Brewer. He passed away February 15, 2020 in Portland, Oregon at Providence Hospital following surgery for a major stroke. He was 82 years old.

Don graduated from Ophir School, was a volunteer firefighter for the Ophir Fire Department, and worked briefly at the U.S. Plywood Mill in Gold Beach prior to becoming a Building Contractor.  He built many custom homes in the  Gold Beach area, and left his footprint on an already incredible landscape. Don loved his life and his family (“He was the most content person I have ever known”, said wife Mary). They traveled to Mexico, Hawaii, and Arizona, but he was always happiest at home in Gold Beach. He loved being outdoors-hunting, fishing and riding his “Gold Wing”.

Don is survived by his wife Mary of 62 years. He is also survived by daughter Brenda and son-in-law Kevin Starbird of Gold Beach; son Scott Brewer and Sheri of Gold Beach; grandsons Bryce Starbird of Laveen, Arizona, and  Kyle and Jody Starbird of Glendale, Arizona; and five great grandchildren - Aiden, Payson, Macy, Kennadee and Emma. Don was preceded in death by their son Donald G. Brewer, his parents Gladys and U.E. Brewer, and his brothers Joe and John (Corky) Brewer.

A Celebration of Don’s life will be held Saturday, March, 28, 2020 at 11:00 at the Showcase Building located at the Event Center on the Beach (Fairgrounds) in Gold Beach, Oregon. Please join us. In Lieu of flowers. Please hug a loved one and share with them the value they bring to your life.
