Deanna Gail Hodney passed away on June 30, 2019, surrounded by family and friends at her home in Gold Beach.
Deanna was born in Henderson, Nevada on June 20,1947 to Jack and Dorene Geiser. She moved to Gold Beach in 1963, where she completed high school and made this her home. After graduation she worked in the service industry all of her life where she made several friends throughout the community and was loved by all.
Deanna found the love of her life Stan Hodney in 1990 and they were married on June 6 and have been for 29 years. They made their home in Hunter Creek before moving to Rogue Hills to their current residence. Deanna’s home in Hunter Creek had a revolving door and her close knit community soon became her extended family. It was the same when she moved to Rogue Hills.
Deanna loved gardening, cooking, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the outdoors and could usually find her outside somewhere if she wasn’t in the kitchen whipping up a “new” recipe. She also loved taking pictures of her adventures with Stan, her “Girls Group” and family. Those are displayed throughout her home of her very special moments.
Deanna is survived by her husband Stan, daughter Shelly Pierson, son Dustin Smith, and step-daughter Donna Cornish. She has 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Deanna enjoyed life to the fullest and was a large part of the community and her smiling face will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held July 21 at 1 pm at the east end of Buffington Memorial Park in Gold Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the GB Mainstreet Project: GB Mainstreet Project - Deanna Hodney, P.O. Box 1203, Gold Beach, OR 97444.
