Alvin A. Benedict

Alvin A. Benedict was a lover of mountain forests and streams, a lover of the ocean and harbor, a hunter and fisherman, who was a father to Brenda Benedetto-Eszlinger and Connie Bloomer.

He was loved by his six grandchildren: Christopher, his housemate and companion, Christina, Daniel, Angelina, Chenelle, and Antonio followed by their children, seven in total and spouses.

Alvin, who was born June 1, 1935, left his family, friends and beloved community of Brookings, Oregon, Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 8:30 a.m. from complications of COVID-19, concurrent with leukemia. His passing was peaceful, with his daughters Brenda and Connie present, along with his grandson, Christopher, and son-in-law John.

A memorial service is Friday, February 5, in Roseburg, at Roseburg Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. If interested, call (541) 915-3136 for more information.

Alvin’s theme verse was John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes into Him shall have eternal Life.”

Coffee, tea and finger food will be served afterward at the church in Roseburg meeting hall, 1222 SE Stephens St.
