Marian Loraine Gamba, a resident of Brookings, went to be with our Lord on May 6, 2019. She was 92.

Marian was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Rugene Virgil Waring and Isabella Mary (Warn) Waring. She grew up in San Leandro, California. Marian married Raymond Louis Gama of San Francisco, California on May 2, 1948.

As a young Berkeley College student, she was the installed Queen of Job’s Daughters. Her interests were singing, knitting, bible studies, traveling and Hawaiian Culture. One of Marian’s special highlights was when she took a trip to the Holy Land where she published a diary. She lived in Hawaii for several years and enjoyed singing hymns in the Hawaiian language.

Marian celebrated her 90th birthday at Salmon Run Golf Course surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Jan (John) McCollister of Brookings, Oregon, a son, Gary (Dotty) Gamba of Carson City, Nevada and three grandchildren; John Buzolich, Gina Torres, and Ashley Gamba and one great-grandson Andrew Michael.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Brookings on Memorial Day weekend. The day and time are pending. Memorial donations can be made to St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.
