Jason Lee James, passed away on March 24, 2019 on the Rogue River in Gold Beach. He was born in Coos Bay on May 8, 1981.
Jason attended schools in Gold Beach and Coos Bay while growing up. He later went to Timberlake Job Corps in Estacada where he received his GED and graduated with high honors in his trade of welding and fabrication. Jason was employed by Advantec-Freeman Marine as a fabricator. It was a job he loved and he made it look easy.
He is survived by his parents, MaryAnn and Andy Winger of Gold Beach, Steven and Lori James of Bandon; his twin brother, Jeremy James of Coos Bay; his stepbrother, David McPherson of Coos Bay; his children, Lilli and Parker James, and Chloe Micheels all of Gold Beach; his grandparents, Marvin and Sharon Zuber of Gold Beach; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family of Jason James would like to thank Curry County Search and Rescue, Curry County Sheriff’s Department, Cal-Or Life, Gold Beach Fire Department, and all the volunteers, divers, boat owners, and the community for their support, their time, and their efforts in the attempt to bring closure for the family.
