In Loving Memory

Dixie Lee Barrigar peacefully passed away in her home June 10, 2018. She was born on Sept. 7, 1949. She graduated from Livingston High School in Livingston, California, in 1967 and married her high school sweetheart Leslie Barrigar on Dec. 21, 1968. They lived happily together in California and moved to Brookings in 2013. Dixie loved her home and the surrounding area.

Dixie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother “GiGi.” She is lovingly remembered by her husband Leslie Barrigar, her children Jason and Kristal Barrigar, her grandchildren James and Andy Barrigar, her great grandchildren Flynn and Riley Barrigar, and her sister Debbie Mesa; all were dear to her heart.

Dixie was passionate about health care and was a dental assistant until she decided to go back to school to get her registered nursing license in March 1990. She worked at Memorial Hospital first in Ceres and Modesto, then went on to do home health care, then worked for Stanislaus County and finally at Community Hospice at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, California.

Services will be held in California. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.

She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who her knew her.
