Luke Martinez, who served the community for about five years as a trustee for Central Curry School District 1, has resigned, leaving a vacancy on the board.

According to Superintendent Tim Wilson, board chair Andy Wright accepted Martinez' resignation during the school board's meeting on July 15.

Wilson said applications are now being accepted by the board for an appointment to fill the position. Applications are available on the district web site at www.ccsd.k12.or.us or by calling 541-247-2003, ext. 224, during business hours.

Applications are to be returned via email to Wilson at twilson@ccsd.k12.or.us or by mail to 29516 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach, OR 97444. Applications are due on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

This appointed position will be for the time period from the time the position is filled to June 30, 2021. This position will be up for election in May 2021 and run through June 30, 2023.
