Election 2020

Election results are not final until certified by election officials. Curry County voter turnout was 80.75 percent with 15,088 ballots received of 18,658 registered voters. Below are results from the Oregon Secretary of State, last updated at 3:07 a.m., Nov. 4.

U.S. Senator

Democrat Jeff Merkley retained his seat with 57.68 percent of the vote over Republican opponent Jo Rae Perkins, who captured 38.73 percent of the vote.

U.S. Representative, 4th District

Democrat Peter DeFazio retained his seat with 51.56 percent of the vote over Republican Alek Skarlatos, who garnered 46.22 percent of the vote.

State Senator, 1st District

Republican Dallas Heard retained his seat with 68.61 percent of the vote over Democrat Kat Stone with 31.22 percent.

State Representative, 1st District

Republican David Brock Smith retained his seat with 68.8 percent of the vote over Democrat Calla Felicity with 31.04 percent.

Curry County Commissioner, Position 2

John Herzog won 53.19 percent of the vote over incumbent Sue Gold with 46.45 percent.

Curry County Clerk

Reneè Kolen won with 73.77 percent of the vote over Emma DeRock with 25.99 percent of the vote.

Curry County Treasurer

Terry C. Hanscam won with 54.84 percent of the vote over Elizabeth Neketin with 44.85 percent.

City of Brookings, Council Position #1

Incumbent Brad Alcorn retained his seat with 67.23 percent of the vote over Anthony Bond with 31.65 percent.

City of Brookings, Council Position #2

Ed Schreiber received 59.07 percent of the vote over Diana Cooper with 40.37 percent.

City of Gold Beach Mayor

Tamie Kaufman received 53.78 percent of the vote over incumbent Karl Popoff with 45.58 percent.

City of Gold Beach, Council Position #2

Chip Bradley holds a narrow lead with 50.04 percent of the vote over Beth Barker-Hidalgo with 49.70 percent. Just four votes separate the two candidates.

City of Gold Beach, Council Position #4

Becky Campbell will retain her seat with 58.36 percent of the vote over Jeff Crook with 41.29 percent.
