Pandemic

There are more than 7 million COVID-19 caes in America and more tha 206,000 deaths caused by the pandemic, as of Oct. 1, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE:10/09/2020 - Curry County Public Health (CCPH) was notified of 5 new cases of COVID-19 at noon Friday, Oct. 9. The notification of these cases came through the official medical record system provided by the Oregon Health Authority. These cases were health care workers from the same long term memory care facility in Curry County where two patients had positive results yesterday.

These current cases have been verified and confirmed by the Health Officer through lab results. Three of the individuals who tested positive are from Curry County while two are from Del Norte County. Del Norte County Public Health has been notified and these cases will be referred by back down to Del Norte, California.

CCPH reached out to the care facility involved and have notified them of the positive Covid-19 results by their health care works in that division. These individuals have been contacted and have been informed to isolate and monitor any symptoms. CCPH is conducting contact tracing of these cases and will reach out to anyone suspected of exposure to COVID-19. CCPH has reached out to first responders who may have or have to respond for medical issues at that location.

As of October 9th, 2020, the total verified number of positive cases for Curry County residents is currently 38, with 29 recovered cases, 9 active cases, zero hospitalizations and zero deaths.

UPDATE: 10/08/2020 – Curry County Public Health (CCPH) was notified of two new cases of COVID-19. The notification of these cases came through the Vikor Scientific labs at about 2:50 p.m. today. These cases were from a long term memory care facility in Curry County. Theses current cases has been verified and confirmed by the Health Officer through lab results.

Public Health reached out to the care facility involved and they have the two individuals isolating and are monitoring for symptoms. Curry County Public Health is conducting case investigating and contact tracing of these cases and will reach out to anyone suspected of exposure to COVID-19. CCPH has reached out to first responders who may have or have to respond for medical issues at that location.

As of October 8, the total verified number of positive cases in Curry County is currently 35, with 29 recovered cases, 6 active cases, zero hospitalizations and zero deaths.

Public Health Administrator Sherriè Ward was notified by Curry Health Network this morning, Oct. 7, of a one new case of COVID-19. This current case has been verified and confirmed by the Health Officer through lab results.

Public Health has made contact with the individual, who is a Curry County resident that is home self-isolating, monitoring symptoms. Investigation and contact tracing is being conducted by Curry County Public Health. Public Health will reach out to anyone suspected of exposure to COVID-19.

As of October 7,  the total verified number of positive cases in Curry County is currently 33 with one of those considered presumptive, 28 recovered cases, 5 active cases, zero hospitalizations and zero deaths.
