Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service in Medford is urging beachgoers to be aware of the potential for sneaker waves through Monday.

The Weather Service has also issue a Red Flag Warning for the Southern Oregon Coast in effect from 8 a.m. Tuesday, to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Impacts

East wind, poor relative humidity recovery, gusty afternoon wind with low relative humidity, and high fire danger will result in the potential for significant spread of new and existing fires in the absence of fire suppression efforts.

Affected area

In Southwest Oregon.. Portions of Fire Weather Zone 618, primarily elevations above 500 feet.

Winds

East 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph at mid and upper elevations as well as east wind prone areas.

Humidity

Minimum RH 10 to 15 percent Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Maximum RH recovery Tuesday night is expected to be 15 to 35 percent.

Precautionary/preparedness actions

Strong winds and low relative humidities will result in the potential for significant spread of new and existing fires in the absence of fire suppression efforts.
