The Redfish Rocks Community Team has put together an audio and visual tour experience through a mobile app called Junket: Explore Your World. The tour features the voices of Port Orford’s Ocean Community on a walk from the visitor’s center down to the dock.

The tour is free and can be taken at any time. Participants simply need to download the app and head to the Port Orford Visitor’s Center to begin. As participants follow the map to various points along the route, they will access different audio experiences narrated by some of Port Orford’s local experts and personalities, including Tom Calvanese on the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve, Kassandra Rippee on the historic significance of Battle Rock, Aaron Longton on commercial fishing, and many more. These narrators represent the fishing, recreational, scientific, and tribal communities of this area.

In addition to being fun and educational, Redfish Rocks are also offering prizes to participants who complete the route. These prizes include $15 off a meal at participating local restaurants, and $50 off a kayak tour with South Coast Tours, while supplies last.

The Redfish Rocks Community Team has been serving the Port Orford and greater South Coast region since 2012 with the mission of connecting community to the Redfish Rocks Marine Reserve through education, outreach, economic development and citizen science and stewardship opportunities. We are proud to truly work within the community in which we serve, developing effective partnerships with local marine industries, businesses, educators, and the public more broadly. Learn more at
