Brett McBee won the grand prize at the Slam’n Salmon Derby held over Labor Day Weekend. He caught his 20 pound salmon on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Organizers have finally released the 2019 Slam’n Salmon Derby results from the Labor Day holiday event held in Brookings.

Brett McBee landed the top prize with his 20-pound salmon that he caught on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Daily winners in the derby were also announced. Friday’s catch included a 17-pound, 8 oz. fish caught by Rocky Gravel for first place, a 15-pound, 5 oz. fish caught by Bill Doty for second place, and a 12-pound, 13 oz. fish caught by Dave Groenebergh for third place.

Saturday’s catch, in addition to McBee’s overall winning fish, included an 18-pound salmon caught by Chris Berlin for second place. Third place went to Scott Cuthbertson (no weight information provided).

Sunday’s daily winners were a 19-pound, 10 oz. fish caught by Dave Roberts that captured the day’s first place, a 19-pound, 7 oz. fish caught by Mary Tillery for second place, and a 15-pound fish caught by Dave Groenebergh for third place.
