Razor Clam

The Oregon Department of Agriculture has now opened the entire Oregon Coast to razor clamming.

Elevated levels of domoic acid, a marine biotoxin, had closed the coastal clam harvesting between the Coquille River and Umpqua River south jetty. Following sample testing, the ODA said the amount of domoci acid is below the closure limit, allowing all areas along the coastline to be reopened to razor clam harvesting.

For more information, call the ODA at 800-448-2427.
