Brookings police blotter

The police blotter is a public record of incidents as reported by law-enforcement agencies. All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty. The information printed is preliminary and subject to change.

Wednesday 9/8:

  • At  00:16 a.m. the police responded to the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported a criminal mischief. A male subject on Post Prison Supervision was arrested for being a felon in possession of a weapon and transported to jail.
  • At 8:34 a.m. the police responded to the 96000 block of Lome Ranch Parkway after a caller reported illegal camping.
  • At 9:35 a.m. the police responded to the 1400 block of Scott Lane after a caller reported harassment over the phone.
  • At 10:53 a.m. the police responded to the 1000 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported a traffic crash with no injury.
  • At 2:23p.m. the police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of highway 101 south and fern avenue.
  • At 3:09 p.m. the police responded to the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported theft.
  • At 5:51 p.m. the police conducted an area check at the 500 block of 5th street.
  • At 8:16 p.m. the police responded to the 6500 block of Lucky Lane after a caller reported a dispute. A male and a female were counseled following a verbal dispute. Parties agreed to stay separated for the night.
  • At 10:03 p.m. the police responded to the 1700 block of South Side Road after a caller reported shots fired.

Thursday 9/9:

  • At 9:45 a.m. the police responded to the 600 block of 5th street after a caller reported an animal complaint.
  • At 10:30 the police responded to Wimmerman after a caller reported a traffic crash with injury.
  • At 11:11 the police responded to the intersection of Chetco AVenue and Fern Avenue after a caller reported a traffic crash with no injury.
  • At 1:52 p.m. the police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Easy street and 5th street.
  • At 7:00 p.m. the fire department responded to the 16200 block of Highway 101 South after a caller reported a fire in a parking lot.
  • At 8:17 p.m. the police responded to the 900 block of 6th street after a caller reported an assault.

Friday 9/10:

  • At 8:51 a.m. the police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Chetco Avenue and Harris Beach.
  • At 9:05 a.m. the police responded to the 97700 block of North Bank Chetco River ROad after a caller reported an abandoned vehicle.
  • At 11:18 a.m. the police responded to the 1100 block of Chetco Avenue after a caller reported an assault.
  • At 1:34 p.m. the police responded to the 300 block of 5th street after a caller reported a hit and run.
  • At 2:08 p.m. the police responded to the 97800 block of Harbor View Circle after a caller reported harassment.
  • At4:14 p.m. the police responded to the 800 block of Old County Road after a caller reported an animal complaint.
  • At 6:13 p.m. the police responded to the 900 block of Parkview Drive after a caller reported assault.
  • At 9:25 p.m. the fire department responded to the 16000 block of Boat Bassin Road after a caller reported a fire.
  • At 10:29 p.m. the police conducted a warrant service. A female was arrested, cited and released on an outstanding warrant for offensive littering.

Saturday 9/11 and Sunday 9/12 : No Reports

Monday 9/13:

  • At 6:36 a.m. the police responded to Ross Road after a caller reported criminal trespass. A male formally trespassed from business property and information were provided for the food bank.
  • At 6:59 a.m. the police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Chetco and Center/ THe driver was given a verbal warning for speeding and failing to signal.
  • At 10:25 a.m. the police responded to the 16200 block of Highway 101 South after a caller reported a parking violation. The vehicle had run out of gas, so the owner moved it.
  • At 11:21 a.m. the police responded to the 800 block of Old County ROad after a caller reported an animal complaint.
  • At 11:32 a.m. the police responded to Lucky Lane after a caller reported illegal camping. A subject sleeping in a vehicle parked on city street was advised on city ordinance about illegal camping.
  • At 12:55 p.m. the police responded to the 900 block of Ransom avenue after a caller reported theft.
  • At 1:38 p.m. the police responded to the 500 block of Pine street after a caller reported a criminal mischief.
  • At 3:59 p.m. the police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of highway 101 and harris beach. The driver was given a verbal warning for speeding.
  • At 4:18 p.m. the police responded to Bridge street after a caller reported criminal mischief.It was not as reported, the vehicle owner was pounding on his own car.
  • At 11:13 p.m. the police conducted a traffic stop on Railroad street. The driver was cited for drinking while suspended and a verbal warning for failing to carry current proof of Insurance, expired registration and failing to maintain the lane of travel.
