Bruins baseball

The Bruins played Rogue River on Wednesday for their first game of the season, taking a clean 7-0 win. On Friday, the Bruins traveled to Reedsport to play the Brave. At 604, the Bruins walked away with the win, taking them to 2-0 so far this season.

The first home game of the season will be this Tuesday against the Bandon Tigers at 4:30 p.m.

Bruins softball

The Bruins and Panthers softball teams played their first game of the season on Monday against one another in Gold Beach. The Bruins took the win at 24-4.

The Bruins traveled to Pleasant Hill on Friday to play the Billies in a non-league game. The Bruins travel to Harrisburg today for a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. before returning home on Tuesday to play their first home game of the season against the Panthers at 4 p.m.

Bruins track and field

Kicking off their season with a bang, the Bruins will host their first meet of the year at Brookings-Harbor High School on Tuesday starting at 4 p.m. The Bruins will go on to host two more meets in April on April 6 and April 10.

Bruins golf

The Bruins played several tournaments this week, beginning with one at Bandon Crossing on Monday where they took second place at 365 to Bandon’s 354.

On Tuesday, the Bruins went to Grants Pass to play at Dutcher Creek, for a two-man scramble where they tied with Ashland.

On Friday, the Bruins competed at Cougar Canyon, Cameron Kime competed against Ashland’s first player and tied for first place.

The Bruins travel to Medford next week for a tournament at Millennial Golf Course.

“It’s been a busy first week but I think the team is really shaping up to be a contender,” said Bruins coach Gary Early.

Panthers baseball

The Panthers kicked off their season against Del Norte at home on Wednesday, suffering a 14-1 loss to the Warriors. They followed up with a game against Illinois Valley where they were once again defeated at 20-0, taking them to 0-2 so far this season.

The Panthers play again today when they host St. Mary’s at noon. They then travel to Del Norte on Monday for a rematch at 4:30 p.m.

Panthers softball

After taking a 14-1 loss against the Bruins on Monday, the Panthers took on Del Norte on Wednesday, resulting in a 25-1 loss. Things turned around on Thursday when they traveled to Cave Junction to play Illinois Valley though, as the Panthers came home with a 33-15 win.

The Panthers head to Brookings on Tuesday for a game at 4 p.m.
