Ready for patients

Coast Community Health Center recently opened a new facility in Port Orford.

Coast Community Health Center has expanded health services available in Port Orford by opening a new and expanded health center located on Tichenor Avenue directly adjacent to the Driftwood Elementary School. Services at the new location in Port Orford started August 3rd.

The center has expanded primary care significantly, offering access to licensed doctors and nurse practitioners Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  The center is open to everyone on the Southern Oregon coast. The move from the Auborn Center for Wellness located on Highway 101 to the new campus adjacent to the elementary school will expand its previously offered medical services and adds additional services and staff to meet the needs of the region. The pharmacy has also tripled in size and is open to the public to use.

The newly expanded facility will now offer full-time mental health counselors, substance use counseling, care coordination services, Oregon Health Plan Assistance, vaccinations, reproductive health, primary and preventative medical services for all ages. In the Outreach and Enrollment building, the services include support with SNAP benefits, health insurance, housing support, and much more.

Coast CHC CEO Linda Maxon said, “Opening a full-service health center with a pharmacy, medical, behavioral health, and outreach service has been a personal dream for the past seven years. I am grateful for the support of the community and the CCHC team.”

Coast CHC opened the Auborn Center for Wellness in 2020 to provide limited primary care, behavioral health services, and a pharmacy in addition to Outreach and Enrollment services. The Auborn Center for Wellness has been an excellent launching point for assistance. Coast CHC has rapidly grown out of the building. The new Tichenor facility allows Coast CHC to serve more individuals more robustly.  Coast welcomes any community member to its new center to receive services. For inquiries, call 541-332-1114.
