Wally’s House is the recipient of a $25,000 grant from the Oregon Community Foundation.

The money will be used to hire an administrative assistant to assist in serving victims of child abuse and their families in Curry County, according to Jackalene Antunes, executive director of Wally’s House.

The mission of Wally’s House is to provide prevention of child abuse and neglect for children, while ensuring intervention and advocacy for those who are suspected victims of abuse, for their support and healing, according to a news release.

The mission of the Oregon Community Foundation is to improve lives for all Oregonians through the power of philanthropy. OCF works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create charitable funds. OCF awarded more than $108 million in grants and scholarships in 2016.

The foundation makes grants through an application process that involves local citizens. Applications are available at www.oregoncf.org.
