The following is a list of canceled events, postponements and closures submitted to The Pilot due to precautions about COVID-19. We will continue to update this post as information comes in.


All restaurants and bars across Oregon

Only takeout allowed. No on-premises dining permitted.

K-12 Schools across Oregon

Classes canceled until April 1

School activities, sports practices and events

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife

Educational classes and workshops canceled until April 13

Oregon Historical Society in Portland

Closed until March 30, and public programs canceled through April 12.


Chetco Activity Center

Canceling meals in the dining room, available to go at the door


Tuesday night speakers series and SWOCC and Beyond Potluck series canceled

Pistol River Concerts

Molly's Revenge on Mar. 21 canceled.

Brian Scott Gallery

Canceling Winter Warmer event March 14

Redwood Theater

Selling only up to 50% of capacity to allow an empty seat between theater-goers.

Chetco Community Library

March 20 – April 13 – Chetco Community Library hours are canceled, but will offer limited services, including curbside delivery. Check their website for updates.


The 2020 USA World Championship Jet Boat Races that were scheduled to occur in May have been cancelled, as there are many international racers who can't make it due to current safety and health protocols.

League of Women Voters
CANCELLING the following meetings:
1. Redistricting Forum scheduled for Monday, March 16: 2. Candidate Forums scheduled for April 13, 14 and 15 in three cities. We hope to hold one Forum that will be taped in Gold Beach by Curry Voices. You will be able to see it on tube or on their website. No one but the candidates, Curry Voices and two League Board members will attend that meeting. 3. At this time, we are NOT cancelling the May 3rd Anniversary play for which members received tickets this week.  We will reevaluate on April 17, and you will hear from us then as to the status of this 100th Anniversary Celebration.
