On April 19 and 20, the League of Women Voters of Curry County will hold virtual candidate forums for the May 18 special district races with contested seat candidates. The forums will not be live for the public to join, but recorded and available shortly thereafter on the league’s website www.lwvcurry.org. This is a service to the voters of Curry County to better understand their elected representatives.
There will be three separate recordings:
- Curry Health District: North and Central Director candidates
- North District Port Commissioner candidates and Southwestern Oregon Community
College (SOCC on ballot; SWOCC as we know it) candidates
- South District Harbor Commissioner candidates and Camellia Park Sanitary District
Questions will be asked by the league moderator and recorded.
The league invites interested persons to submit candidate questions to voter service co-chair Charlie Alexander at firstname.lastname@example.org by April 15. All questions are anonymous — they will be written on cards without the submitter’s identity.
The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization which encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
