The Curry County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding anyone who may have had consensual sexual contact with James Allen Propes of Gold Beach.
Deputies took custody of Propes the afternoon of July 25.
Authorities say Propes was arrested based on a complaint received by the sheriff’s office “months prior” that indicated Propes may be spreading, or attempting to spread, a communicable disease through sexual contact, without the knowledge of the other party.
Propes was booked into the Curry County Jail on charges of attempted assault in the first degree, attempt to willfully cause the spread of a communicable disease, and reckless endangering.
Citing a risk to public health, the Curry County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about this case, or who may have had consensual contact with Propes, to call 541-247-3242, Ext. 4.
