Curry Medical Center-Emergency Care has received its license from Oregon Health Authority and will be providing Emergency Department services beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the Brookings facility.

According to the Curry Health Network, the Brookings facility emergency department, at 500 5th St. will be fully staffed with experienced emergency physicians and registered nurses, registered respiratory therapists, and fully supported by 24/7 imaging and laboratory services.

Also beginning on Dec. 2, patients who often utilized the Brookings walk-In care, often referred to as Urgent Care services, will also have the ability to make same day visits by appointment, by calling 541-412-2000.

The appointments are for non-emergent care, when someone is a little sick or a little hurt and wants to be seen quickly. They are 15-minute appointments for a single, non-chronic condition that has lasted less than 7 days. Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

For more details, call 541-412-2000 and read the attached Pilot coverage of this developing story.
